nopes

We're just beginning to recover from the worst rain storm the northeast has seen in 12 years. (Nor'Easter, they call it.) The rains were severe and came down in sheets. The winds got up to 80 miles an hour in this area. It was so loud I hardly slept a wink Sunday night. The news said it was the equivalent of a Level 3 hurricane for most of the early hours on Monday. The house swayed as wind shockwaves rocked its walls. It sounded like small bombs were being dropped in the surrounding neigborhood.

We lost power for a very short period of time. Just enough to notice that the clocks were blinking. So many other folks got screwed though. There are thousands of people still without power here in town and across the state. Since we live near the big hospital, I think we're protected by a power outage force field.

Today, it's still raining (and snowing), but the big trouble is over and done. These are some shots from the walk to work this morning. Wet wet wet. No relief in sight til Thursday. Happy Spring? Uhhh... Nopes.

We'll get there yet.
